Yasemin Yildiz, a professor of Germanic languages and literatures, will receive the Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione Prize for her book, “Beyond the Mother Tongue: The Postmonolingual Condition,” published by Fordham University Press. The Modern Language Association of America awards this prize biennially for an outstanding scholarly work on the linguistics or literatures of the Germanic languages. Yildiz will receive the prize on Jan. 5 in Boston during the association’s annual convention.
