Conversations on Europe: France as a Global Leader

On November 19, the European Union Center participated in a videoconference roundtable discussion entitled "France as a Global Leader," hosted by the University of Pittsburgh's European Union Center of Excellence as part of their "Conversations on Europe" videoconference series. During the conference, the panelists discussed recent developments in F
rench foreign policy, including their role in North and West Africa, placed them in a historical perspective, and discussed how they related to contemporary domestic and regional concerns. Panelists included the University of Illinois' own
Professor Jean-Philippe Mathy; Professor Laird Boswell (University of Wisconsin-Madison); Professor David Pettersen (University of Pittsburgh); and was moderated by Professor Pierre Landry (University of Pittsburgh).

This videoconference is part of the "Conversations on Europe" series, which cover these and other related issues, with participants from several venues and input from university and community people. This event was held in collaboration with the American Council on Germany and the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh.
